If you're looking for a service in your community, we've also added more information in our contacts page to help you access specific programs and departments.

How can I get information to stop smoking?

Northern Health has developed its Nicotine Intervention Counselling Centre (NICC) program to give smokers advice and support as they quit. We've built this program based on another highly-successful program from the Mayo Clinic.

Listing are available on Northern Health's "Healthspace" archive, which is available here.

How can I find a physician in a Northern BC community?

Most physicians in Northern BC aren't employees of Northern Health. They run their own offices independently of Northern Health, and bill the British Columbia Medical Services Plan for their services. Physicians receive privileges to practice in Northern BC hospitals through Northern Health.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia has a directory of physicians in communities across Northern BC, including those accepting patients.
